What can I use as a pet crate, to keep my dog in at night?

The cheapest and most comfortable thing for your dog isprobably a large cardboard box with holes in it. Make sure there are ample holes so that itgets enough air. I would also weight thebox down with something heavy so that the dog can't scoot it across the floor.

My dog has a plastic dog bowl and I find that the water in it goes a funny color

Plastic dog bowls are quite cheap however I wouldn't recommend using them. Plastic absorbs toxins and this could cause health problems for your dog. Also dogs are natural chewers and they will more than likely chew a plastic bowl when left to their own devises. I would invest a bit more money on a metal dish, they are clean, long lasting, indestructible and safe.

I am going on vacation and am trying to find pet sitter for my dog. Is there someone or a boarding area that I could take her? She is a super sweet dog. Thanks for the help in advance.

Since I assume you don't want to travel too far with your dog, would you care to place some geographical restrictions on your question? There are many excellent petsitters and boarding kennels, and some of them are probably further away than you're going on your vacation (unless you're planning a round-the-world trip).
